Why do I love THIS sale so much? My epicurean husband Kevin loves to cook. As a geeky architect, he loves all kinds of culinary gadgetry and high end quality cookware. The sale is just in time so I can get him some presents for our wedding anniversary in August. Plus, if you’re a teacher, the Metropolitan Market Housewares Sale’s prices are totally within a teacher’s budget!
Here are 3 items I plan to snag for Kevin at the Annual Housewares sale. (Shhh! Don’t tell him if you see him. It’s supposed to be a surprise).
Le Creuset Stock Pot (8 Quarts) Le Creuset’s solid reputation says it all. I still use the bright orange Le Creuset cookware that my mom used to make chicken soup in the 1970′s and 80′s. My daughter will be able to use this sturdy stock pot when she’s grown up. I think I’ll take the blue one. Don’t you dare nab it before I do!
Programmable Cuisinart Gourmet Slow Cooker…We often have a hard time getting lunch together on weekday mornings. This mega high tech slow cooker is perfect for back-to-school (which means back-to-work for this teacher). Kevin can throw a beef stew together the night before, and we’ll wake up to a ready hot lunch we can throw in our to-go containers!
PalmZester by Chef’n Recently my daughter cooked a chicken dish that required lemon zest for the recipe. I looked high and low in our kitchen cupboards and couldn’t find a zester anywhere! I improvised by chopping off tiny pieces of lemon and then chopping the peel into microscopic bits. It didn’t work well and was frustrating as I have abysmal knife skills. This mess free Palmzester fits in the palm of your hand. We’ll be able to use this little tool to craft summer sorbets and paleo desserts in the winter.
By the way, the Admiral Metropolitan Market is hosting a FREE Ice Cream Social for the community from 4-7 PM on Friday, July 19. You can shop browse the sale in peace after you bribe your kids with ice cream! You can check the date and times for your local Metropolitan Market Ice Cream Social by clicking here.
P.S. If you’re looking for unusual kitchen gadgets that you can’t find anywhere else, Met Market has them, from Pancake Pens to Onion Goggles. Don’t believe me? See below–I saw them at the Admiral Metropolitan Market in West Seattle.
